Last Tuesday, I was part of a coalition of medical, community, and religious leaders, that are supporting a ballot initiative for health care coverage for all persons in the state of Michigan. If passed this November, it will amend the State Constitution and require the legislature to provide a plan through both public and private means for access to health care for all Michigan citizens. Health care is a basic human right and I am proud to be a part of this effort to bring affordable health coverage to our state.
