Well so much for my more consistent blogging! Oh well, that I even thought of it is half the battle. What's worse is someone commented on my last one and I finally reviewed it 5 months later. Sorry Leslie.

Anyway, I was reminded today that it is indeed one to be celebrated. of course everyday should be celebrated, but today especially since it is Groundhogs Day. In addition to Phil's Prediction that there would be six more weeks of winter this year, it was a day to connect with a friend. Several Years ago while leading a youth ski trip which happened to be on Feb. 2nd, we decided it would be coll to wish everyone a Happy Groundhogs Day and spread the joy. So that is exactly what we do. While waiting in line, on the chair. Standing next to someone, or even the cashiers at the concessions. Some people laughed, others were annoyed, others curious, "Oh did he see his shadow?" But most of all by the end of the day people knew who we were, the groundhog guys. One little act that spread and if nothing else got people to think about celebrating.

Both of us thought to call each other today all these years later, spread the joy and reconnect. Today even though I'm not on a ski hill (It is a Monday after all), it still is a chance to wish everyone a Happy Groundhogs Day and spread the joy. Jesus said that where 2 or 3 are gathered I am there among them. It only took two of us to be obnoxious enough and silly enough to get people talking. Just think what 8 Million United Methodists could do.

Unlike the movie I promise this won't be the last blog for the next 5 month's. But if you do see this post again be concerned.
